DCWW and CCI undertook a joint research project to determine the effectiveness of AssetScan when looking for degradation and deterioration at some of their masonry structures. Since then, DCWW have committed to rolling out AssetScan at other sites.

Scottish Water have engaged CCI to undertake AssetScan for a number of dam assets, particularly with a view to looking at condition of dressed masonry and concrete structures.

First Hydro Company (FHC), part of Engie, have engaged CCI to undertake a condition survey of their tunnels and shafts at one of their major pumped storage assets in Wales. The purpose was to collect a holistic photographic survey of the structures and use AssetScan to provide an overview to the overall condition. The visual survey was undertaken using CCI's shaft and tunnel inspection vehicle.

Sellafield have engaged CCI to undertake an AssetScan trial on some of their assets to determine the usefulness of the approach to detecting issues with concrete and metallic structure facades. This work has been undertaken under a grant awarded under the "Game Changers" program.

Magnox engaged CCI to undertake a preliminary assessment of change detection using AssetScan at one of their concrete structures. This work was undertaken under a grant awarded under the "Game Changers" program.

CCI were engaged via the Transport Research and Innovation Grant (TRIG) scheme to bespoke AssetScan to aging brickwork on disused rail assets. The grant focussed on collection of imagery from the Tregarth cycle path - a disused rail tunnel - to assess the condition of the blockwork and pointing by AI.


Visual Surveys

Esh Group approached CCI to undertake remote visual surveys in a tunnel via small diameter boreholes, principally to avoid the need to permit engineers into a confined space. The work was undertaken with CCI's bespoke 360 camera survey equipment with attached lighting.

Stantec have approached CCI to undertake visual inspections at assets for their Water PLC clients. In particular, looking for signs of structural distress at large concrete structures and dam/reservoir assets.
